Easy and cheap option: Fireside Inn & Suites in Portland.
We have a block of rooms at Fireside Inn & Suites in Portland. It is close to the party venue, is right off the highway, is rated 3 stars, and is relatively inexpensive. The group name is Azzolini/Lyman Anniversary Party.
We know this won’t be the best fit for many. That’s why we have other suggestions. If you decide the Fireside Inn is not for you, you may want to consider these locations.

Fancier hotels are available in downtown Portland. They would be walkable to restaurants, and stores. They might create a better Maine visit overall if you want to enjoy Portland.Airbnb or Hotels in Other Towns
Finding a place on Airbnb or similar sites is a good option. Many guests plan to find a Airbnbs near the coast. See our suggested towns at the bottom of this page. Feel free to ask us about specific places!
Please note: We have not stayed at these places and do not have reserved rooms, however we’ve either heard good things or they are in areas that are convenient to restaurants and shopping. All are more expensive than Fireside and may not include parking. Prices are from when we looked in Mid-April.

Mid-tier Locations Near the Maine Mall and Airport
Double Tree
Next to I-95, this hotel is two miles from the airport and adjacent to The Maine Mall, the largest shopping center in New England. Take the 24-hour free shuttle to the airport or to local shops nearby. Downtown Portland is 15 minutes away and home to the historic Old Port area. This is a former mansion turned boutique hotel. It looks lovely. It is in the West End neighborhood and is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the busiest part of the city. They have two buildings for rentals. Be sure to check about any accessibility needs.

Hilton Garden Inn Portland Downtown Waterfront
Across the street from the Casco Bay Line Ferry Terminal (if you want to head to Peaks Island) in the historic Old Port District. Walk to dining, breweries, and shopping. While we love Portland’s Working Waterfront feeling, if you are coming all the way to Maine, you may want to stay outside Portland and closer to beaches or rocky coasts. These towns might offer hotels, but mostly you’d probably find Airbnbs. You could look for rentals in:

Towns South of Portland and Westbrook
South Portland ~25 mins to venue and Portland- Stay close to Willard Beach if you want the beach, otherwise we suggest the hotels Near the Maine Mall and Airport listed above.
Cape Elizabeth ~25 mins to venue and Portland- Fort Williams & Portland Headlight are the place to visit the coast
Scarborough ~20 mins to venue and Portland- even a bit further south and has coastline, but lis likely hard to find rentals in the off season.
Towns North of Portland and Westbrook
Freeport ~25 mins to venue and Portland - Home to L.L.Bean and some walkable outlet shopping, also has some coastal parks a 10 min drive from downtown
